The Tears of God
Who has believed our report?
To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
He grew up before him like a tender young plant
Like a root out of dry ground
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him
Nothing in his appearance made us desire him
He is despised and rejected
A man of sorrows
Acquainted with grief
Like one from whom men hide their faces
He was despised
And we esteemed him not
Surely he has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows
Yet we considered him stricken
Smitten by God and afflicted
But he was wounded for our transgressions
He was bruised for our iniquities
The chastisement for our peace was upon him
And by his stripes we are healed
